Full-day tour visiting the stunning Alnwick Castle and the beautiful Scottish Borders.

Tour Highlights

Scott’s View – Overlooking the majestic Eildon Hills, Scott’s View was Sir Walter Scott’s favourite view of the Borders.

Jedburgh – The historic abbey town is home to the magnificent ruins of the 12th century Jedburgh Abbey and Mary, Queen of Scots House, dedicated to the life of Scotland’s tragic monarch.

Carter Bar – The historic border crossing between Scotland and England.

Alnwick Castle and Gardens – The castle is the ancestral seat of the Dukes of Northumberland and home to sumptuous state rooms, a spectacular art collection and magnificent gardens – highlights include the Ornamental Garden, Poison Garden, Grand Cascade and Treehouse Restaurant. The castle doubled as Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the Harry Potter films and as Brancaster Castle in Downton Abbey’s 2015 and 2016 Christmas specials.

Departure

From your Edinburgh accommodation or a pre-arranged location. Ordinarily we’ll depart Edinburgh at 8:30am and return around 18:00pm however, this can be agreed at the time of booking. 

Cost

The cost of this full-day private guided sightseeing tour for up to six people is £475.00 which includes all planning, tour guide and transport costs. 

Please note that your meals, refreshments and any entrance costs are not included.
